Martin Robb Residence

The expansion to the main story and third story addition resulted in a 5,000 square foot house with a semi traditional assemblage of spaces but with some modern detailing. The library centers the house with a textual and functional weightiness and is contrasted by the light-filled open stair leading to the third floor. A portion of the ceiling in the children’s rooms are stepped down as a result of height limits, and resulted in a cozy nook scaled for children. Clerestory windows provide a second unexpected source of light and view of the ever changing sky.
